 5244.  Pair of China Service Photo Albums from Jack Beck of the US Company F, 15th Infantry, Serving From 1935-1937 Mostly in Tientsin, China.  Albums contain mostly photographs, both personal and commercial documenting all aspects of Chinese life at the time, including architecture, entertainment and wartime atrocities by The Japanese.  There are also many photographs showing military life.  Many of the commercial photographs-especially of the war-are copy prints (photographs of photographs). An interesting and wide ranging collection of photographs and related ephemera of the time.
Albums are 11.25 x 15 inches, each with 30 sheets with photographs on both sides (60 pages). Over 400 different photographs, along with postcards, newspaper clipping, etc.  Some of the photographs are missing and others have become detached.  The hand embroidered silk covers are stained and torn or worn.   Unique!      SOLD
